    Intermittent voltage while driving

    2007 525 XI, 120,000 miles. Brand new battery. Upon start, voltage in idrive indicates 14v. When driving, voltage drops to 10.2, and occasionally drops to 6, then back up to 10.2 but will not go above 10.2. I'm no mechanic, but sounds like alternator to me. Any thoughts?

    Update: this morning (I live in Germany) while driving to work the voltage dropped to 6 and stayed there.

    How do you see voltage in iDrive? Reading is suspicious. I don't think car will continue running with only 6 volts. Can you check voltage at battery?

    Have Dynavin installed and it's part of the start up screen now. Will test at battery when my tools arrive
