Just bought my first e30! IMG_8638.JPG
The sunroof needs readjusted... it won't even budge. I have searched and attempted to remove the headliner to get to the cassette. However... I can't find a thread that applies to me. Is it possible to remove the headliner on an e30 if the sunroof is stuck completely closed? I removed everything attached but I cannot get to the screws holding this piece in
Any advice? Thanks in advance

Hey all. Just bought my first e30. The sunroof is stuck shut but needs adjusted... its open in one corner allowing water in. I cannot move the sunroof at all to remove the headliner. Is it possible to do this? Thank you!

arrgh sunroofs. you actually have to move them to work on them even when broken. it can be a two-person job to force them back in order to access the clips to remove the headliner, but it is really the only way. trouble is you may cause further damage achieving it.

good luck

How do you replace the sunroof seal. All working but small leak. Dan
follow the diy posted. the difference is you will remove the 6 torx bolts completely instead of loosening them, then lift the sunroof out entirely. once out mark the point(s) where the sunroof gasket meets itself. peel off old gasket, install new gasket, install sunroof. e30 sunroof seals come as either a single or a two part. you might be able to install the two part version with the sunroof still on the car. i have never done it that way.
sunroofs are easier once you've worked on a few. they are easier to understand once you've seen them apart. i took one apart at a wrecker the first time before working on my car to get a better idea. i strongly recommend doing this before tearing into your own.
