2001 325Ci weird rpm

Car starts and idles perfectly. While driving around the 1500 rpm I can see the rpm shoot to 2k and back to 1500
the car does not feel much effect in speed but I can see it happen on the dash. I also does it around the 2500 rpm.
They will dip about 500 for a second and the go back. I do have a intake sensor CEL but it has been changed.
The CEL comes and goes so I don't think they are related.

auto transmission and the intake manifold sensor was changed. CEL comes and goes but issue happens regardless

The tranny is slipping. Has the tranny ever been serviced? By that I mean have the tranny fluid and filter ever been changed? The engine computer (DME) and the tranny computer (EGS) need to be scanned for codes.

Could also be a bad DISA valve. Could also be time to reprogram the DME. I reprogrammed my 2001 due to recurrent issues with the t-stat but I also noted a bounce in idle speed and other minor issues that all cleared after.

Don't know what a disa valve is or reprogramming of the DME. Is this a dealer only repair?
