Best place for used track car parts?

I have a list of parts I need to find for next season. I need seats, harnesses, wheels etc. and I am wondering where the best place to find these items used is. I looked at the track classifieds here and it doesn't seem like there are as many items being listed for sale as I thought there would be. I also checked grassroots motorsports forum classifieds and was similarly amazed at how little there was in the way of parts.

Am I missing something? It seems to me that somewhere people are probably listing tons of items for sale now that we're nearing the end of this year's season, but I don't know where to look. Can someone point me in a better direction?

    Thanks!

I have been wondering the same thing, I have had some luck on craigslist, but that was for an older seat.

Craigslist is hit or miss sometimes.

I've had luck on the forums here. If you need something particular you can always make a WTB thread in the correct section. A lot of people have parts that they'll sell or get rid of but not post them up for sale.

"used" track car parts are tough. Most of the stuff is at the track, not in classifieds on a web forum. To much hassle to pack things up and ship.
Check out NASA forums or SCCA forums if you want used and can't get to the track.
I would go new on the seat and the harness, never used for me.

ApexPerformance.net is a great shop and is having 20% off some of their FIA seats. Ask them about package deals, too. Remember to check the dates on stuff that expires when buying used and to value it accordingly.

Used seats are a tough hunt, for some reason.

There's some stuff on racingjunk.com, but it has never been a gold mine for me.
If God meant for man to motor-swap LS engines into track cars, He wouldn't have created Corvettes.

Well I've spent some time looking through the rule books of the clubs that I've been running with (mainly COMSCC) and I see that expired harnesses are a no go. So I'm going to get new harnesses. I have also come to the conclusion that finding specific model seats used is going to be hard. I really want to get seats that incorporate the head protection but are still usable on the street like this: http://www.apexperformance.net/Evolu...Fit_p_450.html,

    or this: http://www.ogracing.com/sparco-ergo-...AaAuSeEALw_wcB

It seems like finding that in my size is going to be really difficult on the used market, so I'll likely be buying seats new too .

That leaves the roll bar, which may be something I can find but also something that would be difficult to ship if it's not local. I've got time on my side which is good, but this used thing may be a futile exercise.

Also what do you want to accomplish and spend. Wheels, I run TRMotorsport 17x8.5 and get a 255 toyo under the fender. Wheels new @$140 which is not bad. Seats can get pricey so I bought Kirkey Road Race with the padded liner. Depending who you run with aged belts are no good but some places with re web them. Turner used to have a parts forum that I got some stuff off of. If you are going to run harnesses add in the cost of a HANS or something similar. Budget VS goals list should help you determine what to look for. Also it helps to have an idea of what it is worth to you because if it is a good deal it will be gone in a flash. Good hunting!

Aluminum may not be your thing but if you look at these combos the price is excellent for new stuff. 16, 17 or 18 inch seats. Feel free to IM me with any questions
