I am the new owner of a 2006 750li. I saw the videos on adding an AUX port to the car. I purchased the AUX Cable off eBay. After installing it I noticed my radio does not give me the SAT or AUX option to choose from the menu. It only has FM. AM, WB, CD, CDC and Tone. With this in mind I am not able to choose the AUX option once the cable is installed. Please advise.
Welcome to the forum. I've towed your post to the sub forum for your model. You will get more eyes on it here.
Have you connected your aux. device to the cable?
Did the AUX option become available or was it still greyed out? If it were available and you selected it but saw or heard nothing then the device may not be compatible. I have used it for an iPod but you have to control it through the unit itself rather than iDrive. AUX is simply a oneway input port.
Did you disconnect the optical cable from the SAT unit? If you had SAT option before, and do not have it now, then the SAT unit was disconnected out of the optical loop - everything is daisy-chained together. I had a similar problem with my CDC. The dealer had disconnected it for the previous owner because of a changer malfunction (2 CD's stuck in the same magazine slot), and just installed a "jumper" to keep the loop complete. I would recheck your connections and make sure the AUX cable you purchased is actually compatible with the radio system in your car.

The vehicle has to be coded to add the AUX option to the menu.

White94RX I know it needs to be coded to add the AUX option but here is the kicker when I call BMW Dealerships and ask them about doing this they make me feel I am talking a different language. Local Dealer was only able to do it for 3,4 and 5 Series. I live in Knoxville, TN and am willing to drive a few hours out to someone that can definitely do this for me. Do you know of anyone?
Yeah I can do it if you want to drive all the way to Atlanta. Whoever you're talking to is an idiot. Any dealership is capable of retrofitting aux option on any BMW.

White94RX I actually don't mind driving to the ATL. I will actually be down there my birthday weekend in December to see the Falcons play the Vikings. I can come sooner if this guy I am working with here at this local bmw/mini shop can't do it. The wife and I come there at the least 1 or 2 times a year. Her best friend from college is there and my good friend from college is there. Email me at eric.lattimore@yahoo.com so we can talk about the particulars. Oh an a drive to Atlanta is not all that bad from Knoxville. The wife and I call that doing day trips. Hey I also found out that my car was manufactured 05/05 if that should matter.
