The selector rod is longer for the ZF. It's 189mm for the Getrag and 198 for the ZF. And if anyone has a ZF driveshaft for either a 4 bolt or 6 bolt diff and a ZF shift carrier for sale, I'm shopping.

The rear of your current DS will fit the front of a ZF320 DS. The trans output fkangevis bigger diameter so you need the bigger guibo and bigger front half of the DS. The linkage differs because the shifter console has a different shaped hole at the trans end. I forget whether the shift selector rod differs. I did only one conversion and it was years ago.
I have a 4 bolt at the diff, so this could be a pretty easy task for a temporary fix to drive the car

I still have I think 3 of them if you are interested. They have been working great. I'm a little busy with stuff at the moment, so it might take me a few weeks to get it assembled and verified, but I have them available.

    are slow.
I swear Perry is the hardest working person in the world lol. Always a new project.

Have you test fit any of the listed transmissions in an E30, E36 etc? Do they fit in the tunnel or do you have to massage the sheet metal with a hammer?

I've been running it in my car for a year, and a few people I have sold them to are up and running in E36's. You have to hammer on the firewall a bit to clear the bellhousing on each side. The trans fits in the tunnel on an E36. The tunnel is smaller on an E30, I had to cut a little reinforcing rib off on the passenger side that interfered with the pan rail and hammer a little bit on the drivers side. Not bad. Didn't have to cut the floor.

Old thread revival! Are you still making these adapters? I've got a 98 328si that may need a new transmission. I'm wide open to different options. I guess I'd have to come up with adaptors for connectors?

So i took off my m52 transmission on my e36 to put in my e39 to run and while the tranny was out i built the custom turbo kit on my e36 m52, now in regards of following this thread, id like the an adapter kit ordered adn shipped to selah washington please shoot me a message for the cost, and what tranny in your opinion would be bulletproof for a 550whp car.

Hello Jeff, did you get a chance to complete zf320 install on your car?
I also have 92 325is and my oem gearbox just started to grind in 1st and 2 gear. Clutch seems to be ok. Looking to either replace with used getrag 250 or upgrade to zf320

It's a pretty straight forward swap. I did a bit of a video of the swap here: https://youtu.be/a3oX1UA3iuA

Basically you'll need the ZF box > front half of a ZF tailshaft (328, M3, Z3, E46 330i) to mate up to your standard 325i rear half > new guibo to match the bigger tailshaft flange > A clutch kit to suit (should be the same as the 325i) > I went with a chassis mount shifter and the stock 325i shift rod. No issues with that setup, and has been working perfectly for the last 2.5yrs.

Very easy swap if you have all the parts available, and this video was the first time i'd ever pulled a gearbox and clutch.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m thinking of using e46 2003-2006 330i/330ci gs6-37bz 6 speed. I have looked everywhere to get an idea on necessary parts list and some instructions. Would you by any chance know if there is any sort of published info for going from 92 e36 325is M50bu25nv with getrag 250 to above mentioned swap?
    thanks again!
