I have run RA1's NT01's and now on the Toyo RR's. 255 square on 17x8.5 TRMotorsport wheels from Tire Rack. I am thinking about running a wider wheel ARC-8 with the same tire. If anyone is running something like that can you let me know what spacer you ran up front. I currently have a 5mm and wanted to keep the tire in the same area but use a wider wheel so as not to squeeze the contact patch.track car.jpg

15mm spacer up front with arc8 17x9 255/40/17
^^^^ this. Running the same set up this year with 255 toyo RR.
I run 255/40/17 NT01s on 17x9" ARC-8s with a 10mm spacer and Turner hub extenders up front. You'd need coilovers too for inner clearance. Front fitment isn't a big deal, but my rears still rub like crazy. I wear the tops of the "NT01" off the tires. I've tried rolling the rear fenders and have a fender roller. I guess i need to roll harder.
Like others run above... I have 17x9+42 D-force wheels with 255/40 federal 595 RS-R (which I am told run wide). Fronts rubbed on the coilover and wouldn't clear with a 10mm spacer so I decided to go with a 15. 12 may work but I knew 15 would.
Rears have no spacer.
Fenders are rolled a good bit but nothing more than what could be done with the Eastwood roller.
Eastwood roller on sale for $59.
I fit a Hoosier 245 up front on 17x8.5 K1's with a 15mm spacer up front, no spacer in the back.

255/40-17 NT01's on 17X9 ET42 ARC-8 with 12MM spacers, AST front struts and ~3.5 degrees of camber. Lots of room.

255/40R17 RA1 on 17x9 ARC8 ET42, near stock ride height on TCL S.A., 10 mm spacer on TMS hub extenders. Some say a 10mm spacer lacks the material to adequately support an integrated hub extender, so 12mm may be the minimum to use if going for a one-piece.
Great info guys! Thank all of you who responded. I do have coil overs and the current spacer does have a bit of a lip. Have about 7000 track miles on this set up. Car is no show piece (obviously) so the fronts have been pulled pretty far and the fenders were moved out a bit. Need to do my homework on your info as it appears my wife is getting ARC-8's for Christmas! She is going to be thrilled...

^^^ yup...
I've used 12-15mm front spacer. Massage the fenders. -3.5 to -4.2 deg camber. 60mm or 2.25" springs. Any SSR (+45) or D-Force 17x8.5 - 17x10.5 should work. I run 265/35 Bridgestone RE-71Rs up front.
I run 17x9 with 255 RE-71Rs in the rear with around -2.3 deg and a SLAMMED rear end. Minimal rubbing (with 800 rear springs).

Prince I already have 8.5 wheels. Looking to go wider on the wheel but leave the tire alone. What do your front look like with that camber setting?

Perfect. I have driven the car daily for 4-5 years of ownership with between -3.8 and -4.2 degrees camber. Usually 1/8" toe out and over 7 degrees of caster. Using either my 200TW UHP street tires or my Continental DWs (the daily driver tires), I have never had a set of tires wear out on one edge prematurely... and that's even without flipping tires. The toe will do way more to cause premature wear of the tires than the camber. I will say that I do take turns and on-ramps pretty quick, so I do load the suspension up (which helps with the wear). But yeah... I've always had GREAT experience with my autocross / track setup on the street. The only thing I really do with the tires is swapping front to back when I'm running a square setup.
