2006 e61 folding mirrors.

Hello everyone! I got a problem,bought a car about month ago. Noticed,that i cant adjust drivesr side mirror and cant fold them,with folding button. I stripped the door,and found out that the drivers side mirror connector wasnt plugged in. So i did,and now i can regulate both mirrors. But still,folding is not working. When i press fold button,no clicking sound,absoulutley nothing,silent. Maybe there is some kind of reset procedure,because there was error and drivers mirror wasnt connected to eletricity?
fuse in glow box is fine.

May well be your e61 doesn't have the folding mirror option, even if you have the button. Have you decoded your VIN number to look at the vehicle build order?

I checked, I have working folding button,and when i put the juice to the mirrors,they both fold with no problems. So the mirrors basicly are working and the button in door are working as well. Maybe there is some coding problem?

It would appear the folding mirror option just has not been activated, with any luck. Take a look at the app, Carly for BMW, at your App Store and their OBD connector. The Carly app has the ability to activate the folding mirror option, where installed.

With older cars, the contacts in the switches can wear out. Disassemble the door, unplug the switch, using a wiring diagram (Bentley?) to identify the leads, and see if jumping the leads will trigger the mirrors. If yes, then the panel switch is bad. If you can dissaessembe the switch, do so and clean with contact cleaner. Else replace the switch.
