Considering E38 750il and E66 750li for tourism venture

Hello Guys

I am considering starting a small tourism venture to complement a luxury beachfront holiday rental here in the South West region of Western Australia. I am long time fan of the E38 and have my eye on 1999 750il fully loaded with 190K km and FSH which I would just love as a weekend ride (I am also bidding on a 2002 540i with only 107K km in immaculate condition) but to confuse the issue I have seen a 2005 750li with FSH and 68K km adaptive drive, SLS, rear dvd etc and a bunch of other stuff but have to admit to being a little wary of the later models the dealer is asking $25K. Is the E66 a better option for a limo service or is the V12 a simpler animal albeit still fairly costly to maintain....I am serial offender with BMW so not a newbie and can afford to run them. Has anyone had serious issues with their E66 and are the software updates etc only available through dealer channels?

V12 is not simpler by any means. It's a nightmare to diagnose/repair that makes techs cringe when one rolls in.

Except it's incredibly easy to work on the old 24V V12s and go through the lists of well documented problems.
