    He's back ! Weird problem ?

So, I been away for a while, I got a new IMAC and couldn't remember my login stuff etc, now on Tapatalk (fingers crossed) ANYWAYS....my 840 Ci (1997) is doing a weird 'shut down' thing, whilst driving , it will very occasionally (twice in two hours) do a full 'miss' almost like a coil failure, but obviously they have eight....it's just a blip, and then comes back fine, seems to be engine, haven't noticed any electrics affected...coukd it be the Crank sensor going ? Changed the Cam sensor about five years ago....problem is, it's VERY intermittent...and nope, I ain't had it 'read' yet....as that will throw up allsorts ! Ha,ha....apart from that...183,000 now, and she's running mint.....

Yes, it certainly sounds electrical rather than fuel supply problems which give different symptoms - and as you have changed the cam sensor (which will give exactly the same symptoms as you describe) then the crankshaft sensor is the most likely cause of the cut-outs....

Check your battery connections and ground strap. Make sure they are tight.
