    Chipster Siemens-MS41-Flash-Tool site down

I can't seem to find my copy of Siemens-MS41-Flash-Tool on my back up hard drive and the site is down. I think I heard the creator died and his family took down the server.
Does anybody have a copy of the software they can send me?

Galletto 1260 program with a basic KKL or K+DCAN cable will flash it fine.
You'd have to correct checksums with something else.

MPPS v13 clone interface works well on MS41. Super cheap too.

You need to use MProg program to read your USB cable's serial number (Read and Parse), then use a hex editor on the “EOBD1260.exe” file browse to offset 0x249E90 or search for text string “marca”.
There is an 8 character serial number written after 'marca', something like A8UDVPWH...
Get your cable's serial number and type it instead of that serial. Save file and it will work.

Abel, I hear (read) talk that some of the RomRaider guys are working on supplying the MS41 Flash Tool again. Do you know anything about it yet?

Kim's passing hit us all by surprise.
I know there was initial talk about doing something with his work in a best manner to benefit his family or his memory. It's still being figured out.

Until then, it's not fair to release all his genius hard work from an alternate source besides the original hard working developers of the MS41 definitions. I hope others can see it this way too.

What are you needing Kim's flasher for? I have ways to flash your ECU over the internet, if you have a D-CAN cable and I assume that you do.

The software in that video is pretty interesting. I haven't seen that one before.. Maybe 328 Power 04 knows something about it?

I don't have it; didn't have a real need since you can get all that info out of the hexdump with a simple hex editor.

Yeah, I just took a better look at the video. It doesn't really seem to do anything super great, but I guess if all you wanted to do was raise your rev limiter it would be handy... We're not all hex ninjas like you!

That was my initial inclination too. I happily paid the very reasonable price for Kim's excellent software when he was alive, and if his family wanted to keep his website going I would happily continue to pay them for what I needed from there. His family should be able to continue to profit from his work if they want to.

HOWEVER, they don't want to continue selling his software. At that point I see no problem with sharing his software and continuing to appreciate his contribution to the community. No one is being harmed, and his legacy lives on. It's what I would want if I were him. But I'm old, and might have pondered morose things like this more than you young guys. Lol

I have suggested to one guy that he goes with the new MS41 flasher busterhax just released, but it's because that seems likely to be supported into the future. But a far as some of Kim's other software like this thread was about, it seems unlikely that anyone else is going to recreate it.
