Gas pumps keep clicking of before full

Hi all,

I just purchased a new '08 750li and upon first fill up, I found that the gas pump kept clicking off every few gallons. I tried another filling station and had the same problem.

Any help would be great.

BTW - Are there any lemon laws for used cars via private sale? Any chance I have a couple days to reverse the purchase?

Ironically didn't see this link in site searches, but just found it via google. Will investigate the charcoal filter.

My 1995 BMW 740il has this problem. My solution is to pull the fuel filler nozzel out about 1 inch, then it fills without shutting off. I don't know why this works but maybe there is space for trapped vapor/air to escape when the filler hose is not inserted all the way...
