WTB. Drivers Side Side View Mirror Z3M

I was working on my M this weekend and noticed my mirror on the drivers side had been broken and glued back together. I need a replacement unit. Must be from an M and in good shape. I don't care what color it is. Estoril Blue would be best but I am having the car painted so it doesn't matter.

    Price shipped to 46202
    Thanks
    Fred

    Fred,

Where exactly is it broken? Can you provide pics?

I will have to get some pictures this weekend. My car is down at a friends garage right now. It is broken at the top of the metal piece that runs up to the back of the mirror. The previous owner used some putty and looks like gorilla glue to stick it all together. I had to fold the mirror in the other day and doing that broke the adhesive and that's how I found out it was broken.

...so it's the internal metal stuff that's broken? Not the plastic parts?

I think that is the case. I am going to pick up the car tomorrow and I will get some photos and post them up here.

I had to drill out one of the mounting bolts because the glue they used ran into the head of the bolt so I couldn't get an Allen wrench into it.

I have a driver side M mirror with excellent estoril paint. I bought it as a set but the passenger side is too busted up (not the plastic parts) to use.

...if you have no further use for your cracked mirror, I'd love to use it to make some moulds for carbon housings! Let me know if you're willing to loan it out/give it away.

    Cheers

I think I can help support that effort. I am a fan of CF work and have played with making carbon parts myself in the past. I still have some material in the garage.

Cool! Were you able to get any pics of the mirror? I'd just like to see what we'd be working with. I have a local friend who's willing to donate the passenger side to make some moulds from. After that, and with some good ingenuity and luck, we may be able to produce full CF mirrors for Z3's!!!
