i would like to keep my stock 195/65r14 tire size. i am reading good reviews about nankang sp 9 cross-sport tire-195/65 r 14 89 h. no one has reported tread separation or failure of these. can i do better than these?
thanks.
I have seen them at the autocross and here, around town. I have not seen or heard any issues
No e30s again.
At $37 a tire how could one go wrong?

Since a tire contact patch is about the size of my palm, I like to purchase tires with the highest traction and temperature rating possible.
I was unable to find ratings for the tire you are considering.
Traction and temperature scores: Those scores denote a tire’s wet-stopping ability and temperature resistance. For traction, AA is best, C is worst. For temperature resistance, scores range from A (best) to C.

There are a lot of good options in 195/60/14. Like the Kumho Sense or General Altimax RT43.
If your e30 runs bad, switch to Megasquirt first. Then try new spark plugs, cap and rotor, wires, oxygen sensor, crank shaft position sensor, coolant temp sensor, air flow meter, idle control valve, throttle position sensor, digital motor electronics unit, harmonic balancer, fuel injectors, engine harness...
While not the ones listed above, I have run Nankang tires on cars before.
Plenty of people will jump down your throat for asking about cheap tires, but the truth is, if you're looking for cheap rubber to get you from point A-B they'll do just fine. They're not going to be the most grippy, they're not going to be the most quiet, and they probably won't last as long as slightly more expensive all season tire options.
