    Need a new Auto Transmission

    Hello,

Im looking to buy a new auto tranny for my 1995 325is and was wondering what the best one would be. Could I used a 1996+E36 auto tranny or even a 1995 M3s auto tranny?

    A short answer is none.

The automatics were sold as "life time" fluid so no one ever changed it. Fast forward to 120k+ miles and they start to take a dump. M3 auto is an entirely different animal and wiring so that's really not an option. Your best bet would swapping to stick. Next best would be sticking with a 325 auto but ensure you get the matching computer for the tranny.

FYI, I sell complete (yes, everything you need) 5speed getrag stick swaps for $500.

I also have 325 auto trannys for $100 with computer.

6 cylinder autos were all the same GM units. I've swapped them between obd1 and obd2 cars.

    How much would shipping be?

Same model but different versions and gears from what I recall. Big green plate on the side denotes what guts it has. They have different letters. Not sure if you have to match computers or not but I would not be surprised.
