    E92 vs F30 decision advice

I am posting the same thread in two forums, because I expect the F30 to win here and the E92 to win over there, but I'm interested in both perspectives.

I'm looking at moving from a 2009 E90 323i with 185kkm to one of two cars:

    2009 E92 328xi 65kkm sport package, approx $15k cdn

    or

    2013 F30 328xi sportline 88kkm, approx $20k cdn

I'm probably most primarily concerned with maintenance of one vs the other. I'm pretty used to working on the E9X platform and find it pretty straightforward. I plan to keep this car for around 100-120kkm as I did with the E90. I'm a little nervous about the N20 vs the N52 -- I have never owned or fixed a turbo motor. This (irrational?) fear has kept me away from considering the E92 335i but now I have no choice. But as I think back I was nervous about going to the E90 with all it's computer-monitored wizardry vs the comparatively analogue E46 I drove before that. What's changed is I now lack the time, tools and family help I once had for servicing and will likely use a good indy garage more often, so I'm going to be more sensitive to running costs than previously.

Other than that I'm interested to hear from anyone with experience driving with and living with both. I tend to lean towards a cleaner, less gaget-filled interior and spirited driving experience vs luxury, but at the same time I have found that a lot of the highest performing BMW's have suspension that is too harsh for daily use in my pothole-filled life.

    Any insight would be appreciated.

BTW number of doors is irrelevant to me other than stylistically. I can't afford a 4-series though. 8-)

I went from the E90 to the.The f30 is amazing the thermostat will go out and lock open,But other than that I have had no issues. I can't pick 3 things I don't like about it after some light coding. you will end up paying more over the next 5 years on the E90 the turbo isn't an issue as of yet. mine is a 2013. the steering however is less connected, don't get me wrong you can still take that 40kph ramp at 140kph it is just that bump won't hick back to your hand. That said the car will react and adjust accordingly. I was pissed the first time I drove my f30 down a curving back road. by the 3rd drive I was...... what was I thinking this thing is just stupid good.it feels like a sports car still. however it is heavy and a little less harder to throw around. I got the Xdrive. the Drive is worth looking into. if you want to do something silly you can just all a fuse and do it. I recommend you get one that is luxury line driver assist package exective package, and all the heated crap. it[is like a cocoon of luxury and fast as hell.
