    E36 OE Diff Bushing Alignment

I'm replacing the diff bushings in an E36 LSD with OE rubber bushings. I've already pressed the old bushings out of the cover but just as I was getting ready to press the new bushings in, I noticed the hole in the bushing is not perfectly round...it's oblong. Borrowing a picture from ECS below, in which you can see the oblong hole.

I've looked in the service manual but I can't find anything that discusses proper alignment of these in the diff cover.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

i know for aluminum/solid bushings its always done where the slot is parallel to the ground and chassis.

That's a step in the right direct. Thanks.

Can anyone confirm this is the same with OE rubber?

I just looked at a spare stock bushing diff I have and the bushings are definitely done just like the solid/aluminum.
