I am in the similar position and mine also turned black with fluid. 'Global Battery Solutions' can't help anymore. Does anyone have an extra mirror or know what replacement to get?

I just bought my 850 a couple of weeks ago and am starting to sort it out.

    Thanks!

I believe mines came from a E90 with alarm clone nose, It also has auto dim which i disconnected, Has hidden compass as well, I know that these model years work as well, 06 07 08 09 10 E36, E46 BMW M3 M5 and many other models with the the same attachment that fits your oem mirror mount, There are several on ebay, Half the price or less that many of us paid years ago, I can't for some reason find the older posts with all the write ups on installation but i do have wiring order and it's a easy upgrade. If you can't find the older posts, I will post the wiring order for you.

I just purchased another for a spare on fleebay for $50.00 shipped

Here is some literature from the listing below:

You are bidding on a Factory OEM BMW Auto Dim Rear Mirror 1999 - 2003 E46 328i 330i 325i 3-Series withCOMPASS & HOMELINK with LED Security Light
Get it now for $50.00 compare to dealer cost $800.00 (Free Shipping)
Unit is in great working condition, glass is clean and clear.
This item also fits 1999-2005 BMW X5, X3 models. (with Rain Sensors windsheild & BMW Car Alarm)
Fits 1999-2003 3 series E46 (with Rain Sensors windsheild & BMW Car Alarm) but will not work on mirror with SOS option, please make sure you notice this before making the purchase to avoid damage to the mirror you purchase if you plug it in.
Fits 1997-2007 5 series E39,E60 (with Rain Sensors windsheild & BMW Car Alarm)
Fits 1995-2007 7series E38, E60 (with Rain Sensors windsheild & BMW Car Alarm)
Fits 2004-2005 6 series coupe (with Rain Sensors windsheild & BMW Car Alarm)
Fits new 2007 3 series E90 (with Rain Sensors windsheild & BMW Car Alarm).
This mirror will fit e31 e32 e34 e36 3series, 5 series, e38 7 series with auto dim but will not able to take advantage of the RED LED BLINKING LIGHT FOR ALARM. It is a Genuine BMW part. It is auto-dimming has LED for alarm system. This unit should fit the following BMW Models but check with your dealership if you are uncertain.
    Dealer cost over $800.00
