    Pillar Repairs

The fella that I bought my car from stripped out the headliner and pillar covers to do a sunroof gasket/seal replacement job. He just yanked the pillar covers off snapping and tearing out the plastic tabs. And, the C pillars are cracked all the way through. I thought I would try gluing cracks with some E6000 but I am wondering how to reattach the pillars after I recover them. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated! The only idea I have at this time is to spot glue the pillar covers on with some silicone glue.

Thanks for the help! Thread searches are so darn time-consuming, tried earlier, but I did not see the threads you referenced. Already ordered through Amazon with free shipping.

My pillar cover tabs were plastic-weld repaired during refurb of the covers and headliner.
Tab distance was increased slightly to alleviate over-tension - evidently the cause of the originals breaking off.

Its going to be hard to figure out length, angle, and position of the tabs broken off at the base. What would be the best material to fill in the gaping holes in foam? Thanks!

If you mean those cracks in the foam, I'd try filling them with a non-ascetic RTV silicone (i.e. something that won't react with the foam material).

I used either Q-bond or JB Weld to attach my A-pillar's broken tab - so the plastic is indeed workable with.

    Cool Volvo, Ugly BMW
Super glue the broken bits in place and do a few coats of a decent two part epoxy resin. Will outlast me.

Someone suggested using this plastic repair kit, https://www.polyvance.com/PlastiFix-Kits-1/2503/ to make/repair tabs but I have not tried it yet because I have been too busy with mechanical repairs. If I cannot make new tabs I may just glue some velcro onto the covers and roof pillars.

This product is available on amazon.
