This has got me foxed. The central roundel graphic of the badge has been stolen 4 times in the last year. Obviously some idiot living nearby, and I know cheap to replace, but;
1. Why would anyone take just the central graphic and leave the rest of the badge when the whole badge can be far more easily popped off?
2. How are they removing just the graphic anyway!!! I've tried and I can't do it. It's stuck fast.
It makes no sense so I wondered if anyone has had anything similar, and/or if anyone knows how this idiot is doing it too?
What a strange world we live in.
Is there any chance the badge somehow delaminated and the graphic just blew off? That sort thing of happened to my 328.

Cheap roundels from china just have the image printed on a clear film. The film lets go and you're left with a blank silver badge!
I've never had someone pull the label so to speak of a roundel, but more than once I've come back to the car, said a few choice words, then had to order in a new roundel do to some lovely person deciding they needed it.

Exactly. Must fly off while driving and OP doesnt notice until its parked. Literally saw it happen before my eyes during a very bad dust storm here years ago... Went to check on my z4's convertible top and heard a weird noise, as I walked around the rear of the car saw the badge flapping because the film separated from the badge on one side. Went to touch it to try to push it back in and as soon as I touched it it flew away
Many thanks to everyone who responded to my mystery. Of course! Solved! Cheap solutions bought online. I am going to check out getting a real one as it is a right pain. Never buy the cheap ones, I should have known.
