Well it has been an adventure, owning a BMW 530i was a pleasure of sorts. My wife loved her car and enjoyed all of it's features, none more than the seat heaters. As the family mechanic it has been a learning experience to say the least. This last Monday a driver of a LARGE SUV decided it would be a good idea to pass on the left in the middle of a intersection over a double yellow line as I was turning left. My Toledo blue girl protected my son and I but gave her life to do so. The insurance adjuster is outside at this moment looking over her corpse. All three airbags deployed on the drivers side saving my son and I from any injury. I would like to say thanks to all that have helped me keep this car functioning and on the road, that has been challenging at times. My wife has her eye on a C230 Mercedes Benz, She likes to keep me learning, lol. So goodbye to all you, your willingness to share your knowledge was greatly appreciated, live strong, love with all your heart and be safe.
A shame to see another E39 go out this way. Glad you and your family were unscathed. These cars are pretty dang safe. Enjoy the MB. If I ever crashed my E39 I'd probably look at the C230 myself. Best.

Sorry to hear your 530 is toast. Good to hear your OK.
FYI, I've worked for a company in Sonora for many years.
Still know a bunch of people there.
Good luck with the C230.
Yeugh, if I ever wrecked my 540i I would remain BMW loyal and get an X5 4.6is. I'm actually eyeing 2 locally that already have guides done but I would prefer to sell our E46 first.

Tell her to look at Audis. Sorry about the car and glad you and yours are ok.
Funny you should say that I have a 97 Cabriolet that I am restoring and love the car's drive and ride. We are in an area that gets snow annually so a Quatro might be an option.
So sorry about the car...
Very glad everyone is safe.
On another note, are the 4.6's quite a bit faster than a standard 4.4?
We are looking for a replacement for the wife's van.
It is funny, because we saw the new Mini Clubman, and she really liked it, which really surprised me.
Looking for an E39 belly pan , passenger front inner fender liner …
The 4.6is certainly feels faster, but it’s the other little things that really make it awesome. Like the M5-style cluster with the warmup lights, the nappa leather seats, the super aggressive transmission mapping, the muscular exhaust note, the awesome 20” wheels, the body kit, etc.
They do guzzle gas quite a bit though, that’s the major downside of the 4.6is... I average 13mpg no matter how I drive.
