Hey guys,
it's been a long time since my last posts here. Too much shit going on.. maybe a few of you remember my old "Turboratte" E34?
turbo.jpg
Well, the E34 Turbo is not gone yet, but since there was almost no chance to get it road legal i had to accept the fact, that there is no proper use for it and i lost the interrest in it.. and one of my closest friends, who build the rat car with me (to race it together) ripped me off... long story short: he took my perfect condition 1987 E32 735i manual for a joyride without me knowing and crashed it (and another parking car - totalled it). without a drivers licence at that time. with my plates on it and therefore the insurance went straight back to ME and charging almost 10k $... oh yeah, and my car was wrecked. here are pics of theo E32 before it got wrecked... :'( i really loved that thing..

... when all hope was lost i made an unbelievable find on the local scrapyard that gave me so much hope to go back to the garage and start everything all over again:

Rusty as fuck on the floor but only 143.000 km on it (~90k miles) and a genuine 323i manual from 1982 and that on the scrapyard 2 minutes away from my garage... <3

Towed it right to our garage on E30 wheels i had left over. turned out the rubbed heavily on the suspension - already wondered why my E34 540i (daily i built after the e32 was toast) had to work that hard to tow such a little car.. i just thought the old brakes of the E21 are stuck. lol. 5 minutes later the E21 was in our garage and the rims were "polished" on the inner lip...

Took 3 hours to make the old M20B23 run again! - New fuel pump and plugs and a good shot of gas and it was alive! After i verified the engine is in running condition, i pulled it.

The angle it takes to get it out is a real PITA.. its hard not to destroy the front end. (help me, how is it the front of the bay called in english where the hood is mounted?)

Then it was time to check out the rust.. it was an the junkyard for a reason... but i guess mostly because the previous owner didnt get it to run properly.. just sayin, these rusty bricks sell for 3-5k $ in this condition.. people would take it within 1 hour if he put it on ebay for 2k instead of tossing it on the scapyard... lol.
well.. it is rusty. nothing you cant fix, but takes $$$ and time. i've got none of both.

the worst part is where the rear suspension is mounted i already pushed a screwdriver thru it... :/

there is more in the trunk and behind the front fenders, but the worst is the stuff pictured. the sill looks decent and only 2 little pieces need to be welded in.

Next step was to get the suspension and axles out for a complete rebuild. but i had to keep the car movable somehow. i came up with the idea to build a dolly for the chassis. - cost me like 100 bucks and 2 hours of work. totally worth it!

should carry about 600kg (~1200lbs) - weak spot are the wheels, rated 100kg (200lbs) per wheel.

added 2 more support beams and another 2 wheels and tested it right away:

as you can see, i already removed the whole suspesion

We are working on becoming one at full Speed. :| But well, still we all spend our savings on rusty 30 year old bricks and complain about how our builds are not progressing fast enough cause we aint got cash nor time

No E21 love here? :'(
Feels like christmas - expensive christmas
I decided to buy a set of bilsteins. B6 on the front and B8 in the rear
Of course I just bought 2 suspension mounts instead of 4.. was mislead by the title "mount set"--- well.. obviously a "set" is one mount + 3 nuts in good ol germany. #makegermanygreatagain.
