1998 m52tu 728I auto trans cooler

So long story short, very yellow oil in coolant, about 50% of the coolant was gunky yellow crap, cleaned it all out (took days) replaced pipes etcdriving it seems very normal no over heating, no excessive smoke or use of water/oil, ive chucked a k seal in and theres been no more oil in the coolant just the odd few floaty yellow bits I guess hiding in the matrix and rad.
As ive only owned the car a few months I dont know the history of over heating issues could be a head issue but all is OK now, it had a new radiator a few months before I got it, maybe it over heated? Who knows.
What do you guys think? I assume the oil cooler for the trans is completely separate and doesnt use coolant as a cooler for the mini radiator for the trans on this model?
