Four (4) of my cars (the two coupes stacked in the single bay were just visiting).

The black & gray M Rdstrs hiding in the corner.

The Healey I've had for almost forty (>39) years.

Oftentimes, there are more cars__than people__on the premises, though I've been trying to cut down on that.

Forgot about this beauty...collectively own with the race team. We've had this Volvo (aka Mustache Ride) going on 8 years now! And yes, that is a 20T press on its side to remove a trailing arm bushing. Don't worry, we were drinking so it was totally safe!

The Mk V and Mk VI Sportwagen is a great car. Three engine choices: the infamous TDI that's hurt VW sales so badly, a 2.5 inline 5, and a 2.0 Turbo out of the GTI. Each engine has its strengths, though the very rare 2.0 6MT is my favorite, with the TDI a close second. All handle and stop well, are engaging to drive, and are very practical. I so wish BMW NA would bring us a small BMW manual wagon similar to the E46 touring to compete with the JSW.

The Z4 Coupé is an excellent car, though I prefer the Z3. I've used my Z4 for longer trips as well as an occasional DD.

The Ti is slowly coming along. The entire front suspension has been refreshed with new components and the rear end will get a similar refresh when my son clears his E30 out of the garage. Its only unusual feature is a California sunroof. For a car that looks nothing like a Z3, it’s very much like a Z3.

Buying this from a buddy of mine, 2003 4.6is

Believe it or not, but I do NOT like black cars... though, on this X5 I don't mind it too much to be honest...

E70 wheels coming once budget allows...

215,000+ miles, my buddy bought it for a couple grand needing timing chains and did them himself. Got another car and wasnt get bites on the ad so I paid him enough that he made some profit and I still got a good deal too.
Plan is to sell the gf's Mazda, get her into the Saab, then I'm back to dailying a BMW.

    Several

60k miles on my 2009 e91 sport. Picked it up for a great deal at a random big used car lot.
    - m3 skirts, new paint on front bumper with splitters
    - oem type backup camera
    - invisihitch to carry bikes

We also have a 2016 VW Sportwagen. Great room inside, lots of tech, but we're already trying to find a replacement.

I only work about 7 miles from home now, so none of the cars get much mileage on them. I leased the Forester since I knew I would drive it less than 1,000 miles a month, and right now I'm doing about half of that. The Impreza gets driven on longer trips because of the economy and I don't care how many miles are on it. So a year ago the Impreza had only 4,500 miles and has only had two oil changes since I've owned it...now has about 11K on the clock with 1,500 miles of that being the trip from St. Louis to Philly. The M Roady has 123K on it, and it has only been driven 14,000 miles since 2009. The longest it has ever been driven is from Chicago to St. Louis, a 5 hour trip.

I’m selling the 997 Turbo and getting something else. Such a great car, and, truly, way too much car for me to ever utilize properly. And as much fun as the thing is, I don’t find it capturing my attention like it should - probably a very likely consequence of never actually getting to use that protential power available at any given moment.

Ive been shopping around for either a Carrera S or 4S from the 993 era for a hot minute, driven one or two, and even have been about to pull the trigger on a 4S in Arena red with the aerokit (yum), but have suddenly developed incredibly cold feet in regards to the prospect of owning one. It seems to me that the fun of cars comes from not worrying about depreciation, and I doubt I’d be able to enjoy either one of these options without some serious fretting over any issues that may crop up. I hate fretting, despite being so innately prodigious in doing so.

So, I’m thinking of scrapping the whole Porsche ownership nonsense altogether, picking up a Z4M Coupe to use as my daily beater and tinkering vehicle, and putting the saved sum of paid difference toward my fund to build a house. Seems reasonable, fun, and beneficial...

... but god dang it if I’m not still torn. While I’m well versed in the fact that one cannot delve into all options life has reason to offer, I still have this nagging feeling that if I don’t do the silly thing and buy an aircooled Porsche while I have the means to do so, I’ll live to see myself truly regret it.

Anyone have any advice on coming back down to earth when one loses their head in car purchasing related stupidity? I could really use a sobering backhanded smack of reason.

I had an 07 997 TT manual. Great cars cars but they are complex and need to be driven. I actually made money on selling the car as it was the last few years of the metzger motor. I have had 3 m coupes and enjoyed them all. I have a 2000 sunroof delete now. To be honest I prefer the NA 997 they seem to squirt out of the corners better and and plenty of power. Also, the TT out of warranty can get expensive.

i just oust picked a 95 355 6 Speed manual with low miles. Had the engine out service done and added tubi headers. Never owned a Ferrari but it's always been my favorite. It's ready today going to pick it up later.

I picked up the 355 yesterday, from the belt service. Awesome car it's a 95 6 speed hardtop. I will say one thing after owning numerous Porsches and now a Ferrarri. That M coupe is a special car very few cars have that immediate steering feel and the crispness of the steering. I was going to sell mine but just might hold on to it.

@Randy, nice to see the factory stance of your '01 on the dealer floor.

    My M's owned - also an '01 with H&Rs and tracked '02 E46 - same S54 sweetness of course!

That stance is courtesy of the rear springs that are fitted when you order the car WITH FACTORY FITTED HARDTOP. Probably within a few months, I had swapped in the springs from my DEALERSHIP FITTED HARDTOP '99 M Rdstr, AND Koni d/a shocks (front strut inserts at that time, since I was competing in Stock Category SCCA SOLO II events).

That picture was taken at the PDC, across the street from the factory, so kinda like, but not really the showroom floor

Nowadays, those original Konis and Eibach springs are fitted to my '99 M Rdstr, and I have TCK/Koni coil-overs on the '01. Both cars have had an appropriate ride height since 2002. One of the downsides to having similar cars, is that you have to do the same upgrades to all (fortunately the '99 M Coupe, in my mind, is a different car, so I can be more liberal with it...).
