Not sure what category to throw this under as this pic shows the gradual size regression from Yukon to the Accord to my favorite of the stable...

My wife's latest daily driver__now that we've had it almost a year (1st week of December 2018).

2016 CPO X5M, purchased with 15k miles, currently about 22k. The first and only previous owner maxed out the options (I cannot find any factory options that were left off) and it has numerous dealer installed accessories (pedal set, floor mats__since replaced with Coco Mats, lighted threshold trims, Weather Tech "awnings"/wind-deflectors on front windows, tint, etc., etc.). Conspicuous by their absence, there are ZERO carbon-fibre pieces (of the many offered; mirror trims, front air dam, rear diffuser, etc.)

A few months after initial delivery, a full set of Dinan Signature Series upgrades were added (front lowering springs, exhaust, CAI & STG II piggyback ECU__which according to Dinan's website yields 716 RWHP/702 Lbs-ft__the acceleration force is nearly enough to make you pass out...).

Oh, and my wife spotted the listing, bringing it to my attention; she wanted it A) because it is white (Mineral White Metallic), B) she said we'd probably NEVER buy an X5M brand new (!), and C) her 2011 X5 35i was @ 120k mi and we were very disappointed when we saw the new 2019 X5 released that we'd been holding out for (kidney grills DOMINATED the front of the car).
So as much as you'd think it was me that wanted this testosterone-rich animal of an SAV, it's ALL ON HER

None of our previous X5s had this display!

About the only thing I've done was add the factory trailer hitch, wiring harness, and control module (which allows the back-up camera to focus on the hitch ball to place it directly under the trailer's tongue!).

For the first month we had it, NONE of the other cars were driven at all__this thing is awesome! Oh sure, it just bends time in a straight line, but what really impresses is how well it handles (active roll stabilization, active struts/shocks, etc.). With a little bit of effort, you can even get it to rotate, something our other X5s would only do in snow or on ice

    The rest of the fleet, 1957 Austin-Healey, '99 M Rdstr, '99 M Coupe (Zoran/Jen's), and '01 M Rdstr are still intact.

I love the X5M's. My E53 4.8is scratches that itch for now (first month I had that I didnt touch my other cars either!) but Im looking to upgrade to an E70 X5M soon. Or maybe one like yours if theyve depreciated enough

An X5M, an M coupe and an M roadster is about all I could imagine needing in a garage!

Indeed, the Healey is just masochistic/nostalgic fluff

Randy, I seem to remember your wife having something to do with acquiring a certain Estoril blue MCoupe too.
I also agree with you regarding the new "buck tooth" grills on the 2019 X5's. How did BMW screw up the styling so bad?

I like the pocket Ferrari. I think they are a steal for the price. I would like to get one someday.

Agreed - picked up the 2016 with 1,600 on the clock for 50% off MSRP

Also highly recommend the Abarth to coupe lovers - its right up our ally - practical as HECK, unique, a little bulldog, and a decent example is 9k (purchased my 2014 with 26k on the clock for 9,500....)

Good to have 3 Italian cars...one always starts. BMW can be left alone for 12 months and fire right up

50% off MSRP? I would do that. Most used I see are still $40k-$55k. Did you get the removable top or the coupe?

That range is correct - my spider's MSRP was in the mid 80s, for context..basically fully-loaded (which is an oxymoron with these cars). its a visceral driving experience and my first experience with a DSG - I thought I would miss the manual...but dealing with the manual steering rack proves enough engagement for me! Future classic in my opinion. Buy now, enjoy, and sell for what you paid in 5-10 years.

I'd like to go in that direction. Did you have any trouble seeing behind you with the top up? Anything else pro or con?

Bump - anyone picked up any interesting non-Z whips recently?

I haven't bought any (personal) cars since the purchase of the X5 4.8is over 2 years ago which is an odd feeling for me... let me live vicariously through those of you who have purchased something new (or just new to you) recently

Actually, I sold one. Couldn't justify the monthly payment and insurance on my Golf R, since I have not driven significantly in >13.5 months. Ergo, the Z3 is my only car (I cannot call it a daily driver, even)!

I, too, will be interested to see who has something new...

Smartest member on the forum. I need to do the same, but with watches (I'm sure you've been following that insane market).

11 miles on my M, and maybe 500 miles on my Z3 in that same time period. No car payments, but all I do is bored-buy parts online.

The wife's Honda Accord, on the other hand, has seen some pretty consistent duty. We drove it 1000 miles (500 RT twice) to get her an early jab, when the the only county in CO was open to the public. We got to see a part of the state we've never been to (Grand Junction), and they make wine so sounded like a good idea.

Oh, and saw the first Z3 Coupe ever in the wild (outside of a Jon Martin gathering)...

I've been bored-buying LPs, as I've recently gotten back into my turntable and record collection, big-time.
    I'm selling watches, too...interested in a very limited-production 1969-1972 Rado Chronometer...39mm in steel?

    1.jpg
(Actually, the one I'm selling is identical, but with far less dial patina. I had three of these for some reason).

NO!!!! I have to sell! That's a lovely watch, though. I need to sell 4 or 5. My problem is that I only buy what I like, so choosing what to sell gets very difficult.

Awesome on the record collection revival. I've taken up an interest as well. Parents gifted me their 200+ vinyl collection and some cool old stereo gear. My dad even had NIB proprietary cartridge & speaker brackets for rare speakers made in the early 80s. Notice how there seems to be a car part in just about every other photo? I'm bursting at the seams.

I'll never figure out the sideways photos glitch.

Best friend got these for free from his boss, and he didn't like the vintage vibe so gave them to me. They're from the late 70s, and sound incredible.
