The start of my dual exhaust

This is going to be a winter project that I'm sure I'll be glad when it's done.
Just not looking forward to cutting up the underside to make room for the right side pipe.
The Vibrant dual tips arrived today, polished stainless.

Nice tips. You'll congratulate yourself on a job well done when it's all said and done, I'm sure.

You'll also have a hard time wiping the grin off of your face every time you glance at the rear of the car.

Nice tips! Looking forward to your progress in the months ahead. Are you keeping one side unmufflered that gets action when the cutout valve gets opened? Should sound great.

    Snotty/Ruski, I got them here, $56.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

One of the reviews complained about the welds, they look very good to me, wish I could weld as good as these.

Freethrow, yes those tips on each side will look good.
Philly, yes connect directly to the cutout, don't need no stinking muffler. I'm sure adding a 24"+ pipe will change the sound a bit.

Darn it, I lost patience and your post motivated me to order mine. I went with these for $60:

I'm a fan of Vibrant Performance products and I know you're too. It's hard to beat their quality considering their products are really fairly priced. I went with their 3.5" different style tips and I love them. It was quite a bit of fabricating and my welds are bad compared to yours. I can't wait to see your finished project.
    Mine turned out pretty good:

Z, your X5 looks sharp, me like. My welds are nothing to write home about, hopefully they will get better than my first try when I welded the SS tubing for the Vibrant muffler. Yes Vibrant makes some good stuff and it's not overpriced like a lot of parts other tuners sell. Time to order more tubing and get the argon tank refilled.
Whats up with the clean work bench? Mine is always full of everything, lol.

Trust me, it'd be full of gadgets if it wasn't for fact that it is collapsible. Collapsing it enables me to park 2 cars in garage since I was dumb and didn't make bigger garage when I had the chance. I actually had the house built 10 years ago and contractor even asked me If I want bigger garage and I said no

I've been thinking about doing the muffler delete on mine and do straight pipes. Just have to check if the stock exhaust is 2.5" or different.

I may order two of those vibrants.

This one has an ID just big enough to slip a 2.25" OD pipe into.
I'll mic the OD and post it in a while.....need coffee first!

OD is 2.375" so you could slip a 2.5" ID pipe over the outside.

Just like my shed. Everybody says "get your shed way bigger than you think you need, you'll have way more stuff than you think". Wife says "shouldn't we go one step up?" I say "meh, budget!!" (cuz in midst of renovation with tons of big bills landing everywhere).

    Yep. Shoulda gone bigger.

    Bigger is always better.
GG hard to believe you can get so much done in your pint size garage.

Are M5 exhausts 2.5" ID or OD? 2.25"?

Come on, sit your butt on the ground and measure the pipe. I'm guessing the pipe is 2.75".

Its most likely 2.5" I was looking at X5 diameter pipes and even the 4.8's maxed out at 2.5"

Don't get me wrong, but that looks more like the end of your exhaust.

25 posts and just the tip, talk about foreplay Mr.JimLev.
