Up for sale is my 1995 E34 540i 6 Speed Manual . I bought it from a friend in Atlanta 3 months ago and drove it up to Connecticut to drive as my daily. But being new to MT, I quickly found out that driving an MT in heavy traffic is not my cup of tea. Even though prior to buying the car I thought "How hard can it be?"
The car is currently exactly as I bought it three months ago, and I have not modified it in any way. Everything on the car as it is now was done by the previous owner and that's how I left it.
The GOOD:
Clean Title.
Clean CarFax.
Always Garaged.
No Rust. Never Driven In Winter.
Unmolested, bone-stock, M60B40 4.0L V8 rated @ 282 BHP / 295 lb-ft torque.
Alpine White on Silver Grey. It is NOT Dove Grey.
166,500 miles.
Engine pulls strong, idles quiet, and there are no squeaks, leaks, or any mechanical issues.
A/C Blows Cold. Heater Blows Hot.
Mint Interior. No tears, rips, etc of any kind on the leather, dashboard, trim.
Moonroof /Tilt
Complete Set of OEM BMW Tools in Toolkit.
18" M-Parallel Replica Wheels.
Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3 Tires.
Full Sized OEM Style 7's Spare on New Michelin MXV4 Energy Tire.
Lowered on Bilsteins Shock Absorbers and Vogtland Springs.
ZHP 6-Speed Shift Knob
New Clutch
New Short-Shift Kit
New Radiator
New Hoses
New Door Locks
New Custom BMW Steering Wheel with M Tri-Color Stitching.
New Hella "Smileys" Headlights.
New Clear Side Markers
New Custom Red Taillights.
New Fog Lights and Lenses.
New Tinted Windows.
New Black Kidney Grilles.
New OEM C33 BMW Business AM/FM Cassette Deck.
Racing Dynamics Strut Bar
The NOT SO GOOD
Passenger Side Rear Bumper - Small Tear. Nothing major.
Passenger Rear Window - Doesn't roll down when I want it to. But only when it feels like. The rest of the windows, including moonroof/tilt works perfectly fine.
Both Fenders - Slight Wrinkles. Most likely due to being lowered. It's not really noticeable, to be honest.
Seat Twist - Both Seats. I was going to DIY the fix before deciding to sell.
I have zero records of the car, as my friend did not give me any. But he's meticulous about maintenance so I bought the E34 anyway. That and I drove 900+ miles from Atlanta to Connecticut with zero issues, then daily drove it every single day after that with zero issues.
The WEIRD
The Great Connecticut Title Drama.
So I still have the original title from Georgia given to me when I bought the car, and went to register the car in Connecticut. I paid the registration fees expecting a new title to be issued and mailed to me, like any normal person would. When I asked the lady at the DMV how long it will take for me to receive the new title under my name, she said that Connecticut does not issue new titles to cars over 20+ years old. So after speaking to her about what I can do, she said all I need (should I want to sell the car later) is give the new owner the existing Georgia title, a Ownership of Vehicle Affidavit document, and a Bill of Sale. Of which I have all three documents. Don't blame me on this. Blame the State of Connecticut.
