    M42 Blower Fan issues

Hi all, first post here. Just recently purchased a fairly clean e30 318is, slowly sorting through a few issues before I get it on the road.

Air con/heating fans won't come on at all, when I click the air con button on I can hear the compressor. I'm also sure the relays are okay as the power mirrors are perfectly operational, fuse looks okay...replaced the blower resistor with a spare that came with the car, still doesn't work.

Either I'll try a brand new resistor, or is it sounding likely the entire blower needs to be replaced ? I thought even if it were faulty, it would still show some form of life.

Typically when the resistor is bad the fan will only run in high (4). If its not running at all you probably have another issue; wiring, fuse (#20), fan motor, etc. See page 6413-0 here; http://wedophones.com/Manuals/BMW/19...g%20Manual.pdf
