How Do I Reset The Air Bag Light

Hi,

I had to replace the FSR in the touring and afterwards the Air Bag Light came on? Is there anything under the dash on the passenger side that would do this and how do I get it turned off?

There are many reset devices on ebay that will do the job, as well as give a code to indicate how the code was set.

There is no simple way to reset the SRS.

I've replaced the FSU several times, and have never experienced that.

Even if you had a tool that would reset the light...if the issue that caused it to come on isn't addressed...the light will come back on. Which is why finding out why the light is on is just as important as turning it off.

And as Edjack mentioned...there's not anything associated with replacing the FSR/FSU that should cause an SRS light to come on. SRS (supplemental restraint system) would not just be the airbags...but the front seat belts and passenger seat passenger mat.

Can you think of anything that you could have done that affected any of those things? Did you kneel in the passenger seat (a knee can put extreme pressure on the occupancy mat)?

FSR and your airbag light are unrelated.

Hi Qsilver7 thanks for the reply. While installing the FSR my leg hit the seat adjuster a few times causing the seat to move but other then that I was on my back in the foot well of the passenger side.

You can reset it by using InPA or PA BMW SOFT

Let others correct me if I'm wrong, but it's very likely the case that your passenger seat sensor is the culprit and the cause of the light.
