yep, i just posted about paint thinner and rattle can on this thread last week:
https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...88-Seat-covers
That video shows the wet method, is has its place but i wouldnt use it on a high value car, or one thats badly damaged. The "dry" method yields better results, involves sanding and filler to fill the cracks. If you try the wet post pics, would like to see how our seats respond to it.

Pretty amazing to watch. Hard to believe really.

I use a similar method - but instead of thinners I use Zaino 'Leather In A Bottle' as the liquid base:

I used Leatherique for restoring my seats: http://www.leatherique.com/
Really wish I had done a before/after photo comparison because the seats look almost brand new after having done the treatment. It took quite a bit of time, but my reading on the topic indicates this may be the gold standard of leather restoration short of re-covering the seats.

colourlock (german), our club used it on several 8-series....
They have the BMW leather colour codes for every model: http://www.lederzentrum.de/farbmuste...herstellerid=4
Used it myself (coloring the leather), works.
But if I had major repairs i would always have a pro shop do it (just not easy, you need a lot off practice/expierence to get it perfect).

The before/after of this example are similar to my experience with my seats: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/lea...r-pics.934933/
I was amazed with the results of the Leatherique treatment and the seats look great now.
I got kit #4 for my car (http://www.leatherique.com/products.html), but that ended up being way more than I needed. I only worked on my front seats because the rears have almost never been used and are still in good condition. If I was to do it again I would probably go with kit #2. If you have cracks or holes that you need to patch make sure to get some crack filler too.
This Leatherique system really does work well and holds up too! I did mine back in 2009 and it still looks good on all repairs except at outside edge of drivers seat where a little cracking is returning. I will redo that with the crack filler and recolor. Just follow all directions and take your time.
