For the M70 tendency is now to use NGK BKR6EK (2288) , works well, my wrenching buddy also has them installed on his E32 Alpina B12 M70. He has them now installed since some years and he showed me on his car the difference, idle is really smooth now. I also ordered them for my M70 although they are not officially listed for the M70 engine, but for the M60 V8. They fit perfectly and are very close as far as insertion depth in the cylinder, so they are safe. It is the spark plug which all of the 850i guys use when they want to find a close-to-stock Bosch replacement and want to keep the impedance down; that's how I came across using them.

Sorry to resurrect a beaten horse... Is this information still relevant for the M70? and is the LC+ any different than the aforementioned?
most recommend still to use the NGK 2288 BKR6EK for fitment on the M70 https://www.ngk.com/ngk-2288-bkr6ek-...und-spark-plug mainly because the Resistor Value is 1K Ohm like the original Bosch

When I posted this question I had already purchased
Bosch F8LCR+ #12 12 9 061 870
So I went ahead and tried them out. I'm not sure regarding cold measurement of spark plugs but I got 1.5 k ohms.
Could the "+" be a newer version that made the difference?
She purrs great! but I did install new wires with them so I added another variable to further complicate the issue. Lol
fits, BMW Spark Plug Bosch F8LCR+ - Genuine BMW 12129061870 for 750iL, 850Ci, 850i, E30 M40, E34 M40, ETK says simply BOSCH F8 LCR
