Saw this engine on eBay, evidently the Bentley versions were twin turbo and had around 349 bhp. Could this engine be swapped into our cars? And looks it uses a ZF 5HP30 automatic transmission as well.

It's a very unknown engine, but it bolts up to a six speed or a 5HP30 with no issue. All the go fast stuff doesn't transfer into the regular M62 AFAIK.
If it comes with everything, run bigger turbos and maybe someone can write a tune for it. But you can stil find a midlife S62 and add funds for an SC, Alpina or RD 4.8+ blocks probably cost less and would bolt to an auto.

Mega squirt, tune and drive!
-2000 iL Individual. VF Supercharged at 12psi, Dinan MAF and TB, 6spd 420g swap, Euro under body guards, strong strut, N62 engine cover, Hydro trunk, Full suspension mods, Brembo F+R big brakes, custom headliner/interior, Bi-Xenon headlights, wide screen nav/mk4, Custom splash screen (I make them), coded video module with custom made harness, reverse camera, Intravee II, factory rear screen entertainment console, rear comms armrest, rear blower, seat back tables and writing tablet, all euro options coded on etc.
-1997 iL. Pioneer 8500nex double din/Avic navigation, swc and dsp still functional. Reverse camera, full suspension upgrades, leather dash, console and door cards, rear blower, Re-upholstered seats, facelift sport contour seats, heated steering wheel, 750 front brakes, custom cup holder replacing the front ash tray, all euro options coded, headliner in black, rear headliner MID console.
So the engine is still listed on sale on eBay Motors for a little over $2k now, and if my memory serves me correct, the original listing asked for somewhere around the $8k-9k ballpark. Would coding be the only issue in regards to getting this twin-turbocharged engine fired up?

""same model number and zf trans in my 1997 740iL huh, hmm"...."m62 b44" but had work done on it by "cosworth" wonder what they did to it neat".....
Still no viable answer on whether this particular engine would work. Did confirm however, this engine is a pre-facelift M62B44 model without Vanos on its intake shaft. In addition, this Bentley Green Label Arnage uses ZF’s larger 5-speed automatic transmission, the ZF5HP30, as its gearbox.

Looks pretty interesting. It will defintitely fit physically. The larger transmission is probably needed, because the engine produces more torque. Only question is, if the original EMU can convert the power output and if anything regarding the engine's wiring harness has to be changed or if it will fit aswell without any adjustments. On the hand I do not know if the original EMU could fit into the 7 series. I've read about some 5 and 7 series here in Germany, which came originally with a M62b35 and are now running on a m62b44 with the same old EMU, since it is able to adapt the management. Would be interesting if you could find out more about it.
I thought you'd spend stupid money getting one set up properly in an e38 then consider replacement parts cost. I bet an s62 would be cheaper in the end

I remember this listing when it popped up on ebay almost a year and a half ago. The guy was parting out a complete Bentley Arnage Green Label. The M62 had ALL of the fittings from the Bentley setup -- the turbos, the manifolds, the coolers, along with all the specific piping and mounts.
I actually considered this whole setup at one point for my E38 project but realized it would be a step backward from a 4.6 or S62 swap. The turbos that were on it originally were very mild, as mentioned before in this post, you would need to do some tuning to it with bigger turbos and by then you already passed the cost of a supercharger kit for a 4.4L.
The M62 was much better supercharged than turbo'd.
Stancing is for drivers trapped in an abusive relationship of their own lives.
I’ve been sitting on a set of these for a while now and am currently in the middle of a complete m62 rebuild here chilling in my bedroom 😂 I’ve fit the turbos for a Mach up to figure out lines and piping. If anyone m has got any advice. It would be much appreciated. I’ll post pictures soon…
