97 740il with 165K. Leak is smack in the middle of the back of the engine but I cannot see where the leak is from. The hoses to the auxiliary water pump mounted on the firewall middle drivers side seem okay and that pump and all its hoses were replaced like 2 years ago.
I took off the engine cover, topped off the antifreeze and drove it 2 miles to capture the two videos attached. What I would love to know is what part/hose might have failed to generate this kind of a leak.
Actually, I cannot see how to attach my two short videos - screen shot attached I hope.
Thanks!
Richard
Below is the link to the video - I hope this helps to isolate my problem. What I really need to know is, what part do I need to order? Thanks.
Here a UTube video of how to replace the valley pan gasket it also shows all the hoses that can leak at the rear of the engine probably one of those hoses has gone bad judging from your video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0E1vFrxQcqk
If it is one of those hoses that go from the rear of the engine to the firewall, of course just go ahead & replace all 4.
Also, if you haven't replaced the CCV yet, now would be a good time to do so. It has a rubber membrane inside that gets old & cracks.
And, if you do that, do yourself a favor & replace those Torx bolts with regular hex head bolts so it will be easier to unscrew them next time:
