Hey everyone, I'm looking to upgrade the entire sound system in my 2006 530i.
It's got the USA standard system with the center dash speaker, front door speakers + tweeters, underseat subs, and rear deck speakers and tweeters.
So, a total of 11 speakers throughout, as well as a dedicated 12" sub in the trunk that I plan to add when I get this figured out.
My plan is to:
Upgrade all 4 of the midrange speakers to 2-way coaxials.
Replace the tweeters and add passive crossovers to keep those and the coaxials on their own separate channels.
Use the under-seat subs as mid bass speakers on their own channels.
Add in a trunk sub on it's own dedicated sub channel.
I will be using 2 amplifiers.
Amplifier one will have 5 channels, channels 1-4 being full range channels used for each of the coaxial/tweeter pairs in the doors and rear deck, and one being the dedicated sub channel.
Amplifier two will have 4 full range channels, channels 1 & 2 being used for the mid bass, and channels 3 & 4 being bridged for the center channel.
Both amps have crossover networks so I can tune each channel to it's respective freq. range.
I am looking to completely remove the stock audio system harness and run my own custom harness.
My question is where do I splice my connections in? I have seen the harness behind the stock CD player module, and it seem to be a mess.
If anybody has traced a schematic or knows the color code used by BMW I would be very grateful
Thanks in advance
