Because the torque is distributed through the transfer case approx 68% to the rear wheels and 32% to the front wheels, that means that it less likely for a 325xi to have issues with rear subframe bushings wearing out or subframe cracking issues. However, it all depends on environment and abuse. Best way to check is to get under it and inspect them with your eyes. The natural torsional forces will wear the drivers rear and passenger front bushings first.

I have a 2004 325xi and replaced the rear subframe bushings at 140k, but they didn't need it. Did them because I already had the rear out replacing other things.

BMW fixes the cause of the problem in MY2002 by increasing the thickness of the metal wheee the rear sub-frame mounts to the body. Don’t worry about it.

The likelihood is AGE related. Rubber can flex very well over usage but TIME also factors in. Rubber and rubber- synthetic plastics, deteriorate over time ..they don't last forever.
