The replacemet e30, Slow Project: Black Dahlia Murder

After my white e30 was wrecked, see sig, I picked this up for $1000 with no wheels. no back seats, a junk steering wheel and junk 2 front seats.

When I first got it spring 2016

Tons done to it now.... But I will work on this thread later

    No e30s, again :(
does your Cherokee have the Chrysler fuel injection or the older fuel injection? I know, off topic. I ask because I was wondering if you have done the bored out throttle body swap if it has the old style fuel injection?

I did it on my 87 Cherokee and it made such a difference I didn't have to regear after putting on big tires (and a 6" lift).
    No e30s again.

It is an '89 so its still the older Renix system. I will be using the newer high out put engine, newer intake and yes a bored throttle body and exhaust headers. Just need time to build the engine but I have to finish the $200 e30 and the 535i and a yfz450 before I can do the jeeps engine. If you click on the car in my sig it goes to a build page

I need like 3 clones of me...

Heres the car today. A bit dusty. I just ran out n took these lol. Wow I really need to put that stupid trim in the real window seal before it rains...

    20170915_185755.jpg

    20170915_185821.jpg

Theres some dents, some rust, some paint issues, I've spot covered most of it with plastidip lol it blends in pretty good. I plan to just spray (with an auto primer sprayer) the whole car plastidip. I like the stuff it holds up good, easy to put on, easy to repair spots, I like the flat look.

It does have the LSD It is a 2.93 I hit redline in 4th around 120mph I suppose my top speed would be like 150, but I really dont need to go over 130

    Mods so far:
-OC Tuning DME chip, 5500 redline. It sees this much daily.
-Free air intake, adapter from AFM with a boot and piece of pipe and cheap cone filter.
-After I did the above it blew the exhaust out at the resonator after the cat, blew the whole bottom and all the packing out, car just got louder each redline, it was awesome hah. I the pieces for a 3" exhaust from downpipe to a glasspack then a black dual tip slant muffler. Just got a SnapOn MIG welder.
-It has 20mm spacers front and read with stud conversion. The spacers BOLT to the hub then have stud you bolt your wheel too. Aluminum hub centric rings
-RevShift Poly 80a M3 front control arm bushing (lolipop) increases caster and just a touch of camber, obviously it holds the control arm in place mush better too being solid.
-Obviously the blacked out taillights and markers.
-Hawk HPS and slotted\drilled rotors with SS brakes lines all 6. Rebuilt calipers, seals and honed. ATE race brake fluid.
-Rims are Drag Wheels DR16 16x7 (they were given to me by a friend and better than the crap PCWs in the first pic right?) wrapped in BFGoodrich Rival S 1.5 205/45r16
-Removed all ballast weight in truck, spare tire ect. But that is made back up for by two Kicker 2000w comp 12's in a sealed box, 02 Gauge wire. Currently only one is hooked up cause I need a second 2000w mono amp lol, I cant remember what brand amp it is ATM, does good though.
    - Older but good Pioneer deck with Aux, usb and 3 sets of preouts, Infinity reference speakers around with component tweeters in front.
-Mishimoto 16" efan wired to thermo switch but using the a/c fan wiring ALL new radiator hoses and a new radiator. Then the heater core blew out on my feet early this summer so its bypassed for the moment.
-Removed all the a/c and power steering junk. literally at least 120lbs out of the engine bay.
-The fenders are lightly rolled all around in prep for lowering and because I had wider tires on it before. They were 225/50 BFG Sport Comp 2, those tires did great in the rain and handled good in the corners, but not as good as the Rivals. They rubbed on suspension dips and backing out driveways turning.
MORE ILL AD AS I REMEMBER

Stuff I have sitting around not yet put on the car! Shame on me.

-NEW NOT RE-MANUFACTURED z3 1.9l short ratio steering rack, 2.7 lock to lock compared to.... 4 :O
-PS delete block with fluid passage from Garagistic
    -The exhaust as mentioned above
-Clutch Masters stage 2 kit, hoping to have my heavy flywheel lightened at a machine shop while its out.
-Billy Sports and H&R sports all around with e90 drop hats, new HD front mounts, poly mounts and reinforcement plate in the rear.
    -Gears to fix the odometer
-Center support bearing, Guibo, trans output shaft seal and trans mounts.
-Window tinting kit, I've done it before and its turned out good. I just dont do the rear window...

    MORE IM SURE

    Boy time flies.

I let the baby momma borrow the car in 2019 and she hit a deer...

Thought it was totaled but I cut out and welded in a new core support and it has a legit face lift euro bumper among other things now in the front.

The short ratio z3 rack went in with a sikky manufacturing steering shaft coupler along with a momo steering wheel, front/rear strut bars and x brace.

Ive done control arms, front wheel bearings, rear subframe poly bushings and I'm sure a bunch of other stuff in the last few years.

Oh and it has 15x8 rpf1s with 245 rivals, light and sticky.

After autox last year the clutch started slipping again and I haven't driven it much since. Im still planning on getting my m30 in it, I have the mounts and basically all the parts for swap and turbo setup. Have the complete harness from the e34 and ms2 pnp.

I have BIG progress to share.

The m30 is in the e30, with the turbo, running and as of last night moving under its own power.

I am making my first ever thread in the forced induction build for the swap, engine build, mods, tuning ect.

There is still a lot of work to be done and this is a work in progress build and thread.

This thread will continue to get updates, pics and videos of the car in action.

Heres a teaser pic for now as I organize photos and create the new build thread.

20220617_183705.jpgWhy is it rotating my pics? Guess I shouldnt take pics wth phone vertically...
