Hello,
I am new to the forums. I am posting this because I am having trouble with the locking mechanisms on my 1987 325i. The car's engine is swapped with an M5, and the gentleman who did the swap took the time to do many other nice things. One of them is the Kenwood head unit. . Along with that there is a key fob that unlocks and locks the car.
It was all going fine but I removed the head unit briefly ( as i was parked in a dicey area) now the key fobs do not work. I was able to get in but the drivers door will not close ( the pin is stuck in the locked position) and the lock will not turn with a key in it. I have tried to lube it and manually move it but I am having no luck.
Does anyone have any experience with these locks?
i would really like to get this fixed by the weekend so I can autocross this baby.
Cheers,

Figured it out! still having troubles with the automatic locking system, but i got all the doors to close and open. Thanks !
locate the door lock control behind side kick panel (bentley) look for a add on unit - or goggle the radio sys - goggle it - maybe its tied into a alarm sys - get a ETM - from www.wedophones.com.
if u have door panels off - lube lock sys - old window rubbers @ top of door panels allow rain to wash lock sys clean/ dry & hang up.
make sure u install door lock modual correct or crash auto open(steel ball) in mod will mess with you - it will keep unlocking doors - make sure battery in key fob is good
