    Mechanic(s) in Fort Wayne Indiana?

Living la dolce vida in Fort Wayne and will be in need of a great mechanic here. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Steve

Steve - don't have anyone specific in the Fort. However, McGinity motorworks here in Carmel is a great shop and they are now familiar with the e31!

I'm being somewhat disingenuous. Might take ownership of a 2008 M5 soon. I figured the 8 crowd would know all the great mechanics.

The 850 is staying in Cali where Fabrizio can minister to it often.

Yes sir. Tyler, the owner, is a great guy as well as very fair. There aren't a lot of shops in town that will even work on the 8 and even fewer that will allow you to source your own parts.

thats why you gotta wrench it yourself.. especially in the uppity burbs of zionsville, or carmel, where shops can take advantage of rich folk who will pay just about anything .
but unless you got hella coin, then by all means

on the other hand, i guess its all relative.. anyway, was you car at the show on rangeline a couple weeks ago?

Yes indeed. And I do most of my own wrenching. But I also have a bit of an addiction and end up with too many cars to work on. So, I rely on Tyler for some of the heavy lifting stuff. E.g., I had him do the upper oil pan, brake bomb, etc.

Yes, that was mine at the car show. It was fun and had lots and lots of questions from folks. My car is no show car, but people just don't see them around and hence the interest. Here are a few snaps from the show.

My friend sent me almost the exact same pic of your 8er with the caption.....look familiar? I replied yes, and told him your name in the likelihood you were there answering questions.

It was a blast. You should add yours to next year's event. The have a BMW corral. Lots of really nice 2002s, some e24s, e30s, etc. I'll be bringing the 8 back along with this new addition to the family (should be arriving next week).

it was a nice show, lots of cars this year.

your car looked good, but your hood was closed when i was there & i could hear some guys saying " oh hey, check out the 840 " i guess i really didnt know for sure either by looking since it had no badge. but i said to them, " if he was a real man, he would have bought the V12 " hahaha jk 840 guys !

there was a red one there also, would have been cool if you guys were parked next to each other .... since i got my 997, i never choose to drive the 850 over the turbo.. its a shame really, but maybe next year i'll bring it out to the show

Thank you! Yeah, unfortunately I had a meeting that morning and missed the first hour and a half so didn't get there to open the good for a while.

I had a chance to see almost every car except the other 8! And when I heard there was another one there, I was so bummed I didn't get a chance to see it.

Oh and be careful with 840 jokes around here... there are some very sensitive people when it comes to that joke.
