E87 with 1UZFE or 3UZFE (or other V8 options)

I've got myself a really cheap E87 to build as a track car, bit of fun etc.

Originally my plans were to stick E90 M3 running gear and engine in but the costs look daft for the engine/box. I really want to put a V8 in, love the sound. I've been doing some research and I'm liking the look of the 1UZFE or 3UZFE, probably the former as cheaper and more open to tuning. Would still like to go with M3 running gear.

The car will be stripped down completely on the interior, everything can go if need be, including dash, loom wherever not needed etc.

My initial simplistic thoughts are to strip everything on the 1 series, get a donor LS400/SC400 etc. and then swap everything over, loom, ECU, engine etc. I would also be going for a manual over auto.

From a high-level conceptual idea, any thoughts or issues with the above? Open to other V8 options that are tuneable and strong.
