Long-time lurker in the E39 touring sub-forum. Finally bought my very own touring over the weekend.
2006 530xIT. High miles. Got it cheap. Still pretty damn clean and runs great. The sport seats feel great. Light package, storage compartment package, heated steering wheel, Logic7, adaptive lights, and I think that's about it.

Removed the CD changer as I don't own any CDs and my radio has stopped working. Not a big deal as I ordered the AUX input and I believe that should work. I plan on removing a few more things I don't find necessary; hopefully they don't cause any issues.
Also getting the passenger restraint issue so once my INPA cable comes in, I'll hopefully get that issue taken care of soon.

i am not sure which years had the optical bus for audio, but if you removed the CD player, you may have "opened" the optical bus and that is why the radio has stopped working. hopefully the Aux input will reconnect the bus if the 2007's have the optical bus.
