Does anybody know how are Florida friends are doing? I don't know too many Florida folks, but I'm specifically wondering how Nick G. and Randy F. are doing. I hope they come through this nightmare safe and hope their homes and property are ok.

Irma was still a tropical storm by the time it made it to my house. We were without power for about 7 hours but we're all OK.

BMW - where "Why doesn't everybody build cars the way they do?" meets "Why can't they build a car the same way everyone else does it?"
I had the eye pass over us at a strong cat 2 110mph sustained with a recorded 140mph gusts. It was pretty intense for about a hour. A lot of destruction. I just got power back after 3 days. There is a lot of clean up to do with tons of downed trees and damaged homes and business.

That was funny. Now I'd feel really bad if anything had happened to him, but thankfully, he's already posted (whew).
I'm almost embarrassed to say, but other than 3 or 4 leaves on my sidewalk, nothing here. Oh wait, when we got home (damn right I ran, and only the 2nd time ever; the last was Andrew in '92) I found a couple shingles on my pool cage__they blew off my neighbors 1 yr old house...
The power was out here for like nine (9?) hours, but we wouldn't have known, except for the neighbors posting on FB. Everything stayed frozen solid, as we'd run the freezers lower the days preceding, AND packed them with ice (which apparently never melted, as there was no solid ice mass at the bottom, just whole cubes).
It would be reassuring if someone heard from Nick, but he doesn't respond to half my calls/emails on a good day... :
For those to the south, east AND north of us, I hope that your losses were minimal, and that__by now__all electric power and utilities are restored.
Not all of us were so lucky, and it bothers me that the wipers are "up" indicating that it may have been in operation at the time. I haven't heard any more about the car or occupants since taking this screen grab last Monday.
Randy, glad to hear you weathered the storm. Nothing from Nick yet. Has anyone contacted him directly? He hasn't replied to my emails either. Hard to look at a M roadster that was unprotected. Besides all the body damage, I wonder if there was flooding damage as well.

I'm pretty sure if that storm would have even thought about going near Nick, he would have altered the weather so he could play golf that day. Yeah, he is that good.
