What engine oil (325i 170k)

Hi Guys,

Just checking what engine oil I should be using on my 2007 325i with 170,000kms on the clock.

Should I go for a slightly thicker viscosity to prolong engine life?

Our climate here in Australia varies from around 10-40 degrees throughout the year.

Castrol EDGE 0W-40 A3/B4 Full Synthetic Motor Oil,
Must display European Formula on front description.

I use Mobil 1 full synthetic 5w30 as well. I wouldn't go with a thicker oil. It will have a negative impact on circulation.

Are you noticing an increase in oil consumption? 170,000 KM does not sound high.
