Sorry, but i'm new to this XD I've got an 08 528xi and want to put out more power. My questions are:
- Would i be able to install 528i or 535i aftermarket intakes in my 528xi?
- Would i be able to install 530 or 535 exhaust on my 528xi?(catback, muffler+tips and/or full exhaust)
- Would i be able to install the twin turbo's from a 535i to my 528xi?
Thanks in advance!!
You can do all of that with enough $$$ but it would probably less expensive to trade for a 535xi.
Would it be a direct fit or some minor welding and adjustments?
I recommend selling the 528xi and buying a 535xi. Be prepared for more maintenance on the 535xi. I have had one for 7 years and some jobs are tough.
The 535i is a twin-turbo motor. Intakes and exhausts are specific for those, so don't expect these to fit the non-turbo motors.
Considering how involved the BMW ECU's are with the sensors and fueling, I wouldn't be surprised if replacing those parts (from 530 to 528) creates far more headaches than gains.
I'm no 528 expert, but from what I've been reading, there isn't much to gain from modifying the N/A BMW engines. If you want 400+ HP then tuning the 535 is the best way to go; but like pbonsalb states, there is more to the price than just buying the car.
Hm, didn't someone make a supercharger for the 528? Probably better to trade for a 535 in that case too.
