hey 328 Power 04, sent you a Pm not sure if it actually sent since its not in my sent box
Got it twice. I'll be replying in email

I have since purchased a replacement module (same part number 6577 6900727 and have run the diagnostic scanner which now shows the following -
F MRS: Head airbag rear right
E MRS: Head airbag rear left
I cannot clear these codes
Any advise and/or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

It seems your airbag module came from a car with rear head arbags. Yours probably isn't equipped with them. You would simply need to code the second hand module to your car.

Thanks 328 Power 04, much appreciated.
I have taken the vehicle to a BMW specialist who appears to be having issues performing the recode. Is this something that can be performed using a foxwell diagnostic tool?
No, the foxwell diag tool cannot do it.
It can be done with the NCS Expert program, as part of the BMW Engineering pack of diagnostic software.
I've posted one version of it here:
https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...xperimentation
Using K+DCAN cable and possibly 20-pin port adapter as needed.

Hi,
After bodywork got an airbag light on. INPA shows errors in all 4 door airbags (resistance too high), supply voltage error and 240 Internal ECU failure. INPA is unable to clear these errors. Module is TEMIC 65776900727 v3.0. What tools do I need to reset this module ? If I understand correctly I also need virgin data from same module ?
Hi 328
I’m one of those e39 guys with the 240 internal failure codes on not one but two modules. Long story short I just want to get them cleared and wanted to know if your still in the business of doing that? I’m exhausted
Hi, i have read your first postings and it seemed like a lot of work to figure out the pins.
Do you rewrite the 8-pin-eeprom-chip to clear the internal fault? Is it similar to a crash error?
So clearing crash error and rewrite software is practically the same? Just rewrite the file on the eeprom and it works again?
I have found out about a solution to read the eeprom-chip directly and there are also tools sold with clean bin-files.
You would have to open the ecu and remove the chip and then use a eeprom-adapter and the right tool to backup the bin and then replace it with a clean one.
Found a guy on ebay selling the software. It provides those airbag ECU:

Could you work with this?
Most of these modules specifically have an accelerometer placed right over across the microcontroller, so removing it is not an option.
As for the files, I don't like using another car's files, because there will be coding differences then, and it doesn't become plug and play anymore.

I have just caught up with this, my airbag module is from a 2000 wide body z3, it has been checked out and is unreadable and something is loose inside it, so I bought a used replacement, which works but it's throwing up error codes for side airbags which I don't have. BMW say I cannot use an airbag module from an another z3, I need to buy a new one. Here are the details of the modules, original one first. MRSZ3/DIAG 6111/ NR:31838619201G, SE Nr 99B2740C0082Q. Used one is as follows. MRSZ3/DIAG 6111 NR:31838619201G, SE Nr 99B3010C0299F. I have been told that it's possible the used airbag module came out of a vehicle that had been involved in a crash. So what are my options please.
Cheers
Did you have the airbag module coded to your car?
I installed a used ABS module onto my Z3 the other day, coded it to my car, works great. No more airbag light

It can be done by anyone that has NCS Expert program (part of BMW Standard Tools 'INPA' pack) and a K-DCAN cable with a 20-pin adapter.
I put a pack up here for Z3 use, which will work for coding the used part.
I have a .pdf document there that describes exactly how to code the airbag module.
https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...xperimentation
all you need is in the first post.
instructions on how to code the airbag module is in section D, part 2.

I think the module has a sort of switch inside--an inertia switch--which may make a sound when shaken. I can check with my damaged module when I get home. This is just in clarification to something sounding loose inside of the SRS control module, in case anyone else shakes theirs and hears something moving.

It's the accelerometer used to measure impact. They all should do that

Hey, I’ve got a 2000 E39 540i with a V2.5 31690072701C MRS that I’ve been trying to figure out a power supply fault and internal error code on. I’ve replaced the ECU with two separate units and they persist on each one after clearing codes. I’ve heard about some issues with the wiring for the airbags on these causing shorts and issues with the module, could give me any direction? I’m really really trying to attain the impossible; no codes, no lights, no leaks.
I have a 2000 bmw m5 with mrs3 airbag module with the internal code error I replaced it with another one,it solved it only to come back few weeks later .
Any Help appreciated!

For both of these, the same applies:
Can you get a read of all the present codes, and how many times they've been triggered (the frequency)?
That may hint as to what may be triggering the internal fault, presuming that it's not an issue with the control module itself.

Hi 328,
I tried sending a PM about my 2000 Coupe module with F0 code
Hi. I have temic v3.0 65776908896 module. Can this be solved by soldering to the same place as 2.5?
