Thanks Abel!
The used module definitely makes sense, I had not yet found this thread and was desperate for a fix. My fault only appeared after I had started the car with the door apart and the door airbag unplugged (to move the window) so I would assume that there is nothing causing an issue now that everything is put back together.
The only thing that has me worried is that I have done the same thing before with the same airbag and I was able to clear the simple airbag fault with my scan tool. Would the new internal unit fault be just bad luck or do you suspect something else has been hurt?
Josh
Thanks Abel!
Best regards,
Mike

Replying to my own comment: Still going strong with the module reflash detailed in this thread. The only hiccups were the passenger occupancy sensor which I simply disabled in NCS and the passenger seat buckle switch which I replaced. F0 has not reappeared even as temperatures have dropped below 0C/32F. The car is still being driven, albeit not a lot, 1 or 2 times per week
I did just have to remove the side impact airbags to repair the door vapor barrier/sound insulation. Always making sure to disconnect the battery, of course.
Very pleased, but still cautiously so.

Hello Abel, and wow what a thread. So informative and being going on so long.. all credit to you.
I’m over in the UK and I’m having SRS issues and having read this thread I believe you may be able to help or at least advise.
I have a BMW Z3 E36/7 with SRS module 8896 V3 and an airbag light illuminated.
is It possible you could email me at *************** so I could discuss in more detail. Regards. Oliver.
( Post edited and email removed as Abel has emailed me. :-) Cheers

I need your help with bootmod3 and dme please joshuaksimpson2019@gmail.com
Abel— hoping you can work your magic. I have a 2000 Z3 with m52/auto. I had an issue with the airbag codes already and then swapped seats to the sports version, (one of which had a seat belt tensioner which had been deployed but which was replaced prior to install). I scanned with a Foxwell 716 after the fact and found 7 codes: 14, 2, 1A, 15, 3, F0, and 11. Couldn’t get the codes cleared. Could I impose for some help with an exam and a flash?
