Ideas for secondary tether for RAM windshield mount?

I need to figure out the best way to add a secondary tether to a suction cup phone mount placed on the windshield. There are organizations out there like COM that don't require a tether, but most organizations do not consider a suction cup mount enough on it's own. The problem is there doesn't seem to be anything in the immediate vicinity that I can use as an anchoring point.

Anyone ever run into the same problem?

I use a GoPro suction cup. I mount it up high and just run a couple of tie wraps to the rear view mirror.

Have you ever received pushback for using the mirror mount as an anchor location? I thought about that but figured it was unlikely to stand up in court.

What about something like this? https://www.amazon.com/GoPro-ATBKT-0.../dp/B007WSNXY8

Pretty small, and can be removed with a little GooGone or similar.

Never had an issue, but those tethers look like a reasonable option.

I use a steel cable and tether to the ac vent. If Photobucket were still working I'd upload screenshot but you can see my ram mount tucked in the lower right corner.

I run my Solo in the lower left of the windshield and zip tie it to the air vent. Never received any flack from any of the CCA chapters.
