For now, trading down so that I can continue to afford my BMWs!
One more week! I can't wait to get out of the Poconos. This summer sucked and Jeff has us hooked up for a really great way to end the season.
Unfortunately, the Meehans will be unable to join us as they have lost a close friend. Their room is available if anyone was considering a last minute booking.
Ron,
Please offer our condolences to the Meehans.
Good to hear that Taylor and Suabby have arrived safely. Hope all others have a safe trip tomorrow. A small highlight for one of the two evenings will be the traditional campfire, but we'll be running the DVD of the 1989 LaCarrera Panamericana race that featured two M6's and an M5 racing across the country, one driven by a professional race car driver with a dash cam. I'm using my laptop projector with separate sound and will project it on the side of the motel. Really should be fun. Small clip here:

I think Madame Prena has your name on it. One? Do you not bring a lady friend each year?
A big thanks to Jeff Brown for organizing this year's IdiotFest. I think everyone had a good time and I want to thank you all for spending your precious time with us. There were no casualties except maybe Rob's clutch. I got back to the Poconos in less than 5 hours and Jaws is running great. Cheers to all, Suab
Big thanks to Jeff for being a great tour guide. It was great sharing time with all of you. Some great high speed driving through the woods. I got home in time to wash the car and put it away.
Am home safe 'n' sound after a really pleasant drive that only took 6 hours and 45 minutes. I averaged 137 km per hour by my reckoning.
What a great Idiot Fest and thanks to everyone for showing up and being you ! Special thanks to host Jeff Brown for huge and enthusiastic and spot on planning.
Pictures to follow a little later as the cocktail hour is upon us here.

Guys, thanks for the shoutout, it really was an absolute pleasure to host and put it all together, especially scouting the uncharted roads for the first time. And, must say, the bond that we all share is as impressive as these fine automobiles. Really had a blast!
3.5 hrs to West Nyack. Thanks Jeff--great job. To all, great seeing you again, see ya next year for the 9th "IdiotFest"
Awesome time with you guys as usual! Nice twisty roads to shake out the cobwebs!20171015_092905.jpg20171014_170911.jpg20171015_092613.jpg20171014_160759.jpg20171015_102221.jpg

Twas a great time as predicted and I too wish to thank Jeff for all the planning. The combined knowledge we have of these beautiful automobiles is well, almost as impressive as Bob's ability to drink single malts.

While I appreciate all of the kudos, nothing could be more honorable nor accurate than Taylor's appointment of me as Grand Idiot of Rhode Island. And, truth be told, I believe I earned the title. In visiting Newport Auto Museum's website to inquire about consigning the 840 there (heard they were looking for pristine BMWs, I learned that October 15 was German Car Day (yes, day three of Idiot Fest). Would have been so fun to crash the 911 party...
