Been a minute but the work is still in progress. Scored some 20" style 32 on LetGo. Going to powerdercoat them some color. I'm thinking burning bright silver. Not sure if darker colors would look right on Alpine white. Also got a Alpina lip coming to make the car look lower to the ground. After the car is painted I want to do some air suspension. The headlamps are installed and i tested the Bi-Xenon projectors. The light performance is awesome. Still got some adjusting to do.

Excellent work indeed. I saw your thread on the headlights, good result
Some Places remain unknown because no one has ventured forth. Others remain so because no one has ever come back......
Been quiet on here but progress is still being made! I passed rebuilt inspection. Wouldn't you know it the night before I'm scheduled for inspection my passenger air bad light goes off for the occupant sensor. Got one off amazon prime in 2 days. Got my style 32s powdercoated. And about ready to pull the trigger on air suspension. Also did timing chain tensioner as PM, oil change, and refinished valve covers.

Thanks for the reminder on E38 Group . I forgot i had a thread going lol.
Lights look great!
Did you powder coat the valve covers? What color did you use? Obviously silver but looking on the Eastwood website there’s a number of different silvers. I was thinking of going with silver vein for my valve covers but worry it’s too dark. Yours looks great.

Carpeted but not wired. Carpet was from a 2009 Volvo S40 trunk mat. Matches pretty perfect!

These are rubber bushings to isolate compressor vibration. You can find them on most cars intake resonators at pull-a-part.

Curious: Can i tap into this junction block for power????

The air valve manifold harness was only about a foot long. I needed to extend it. This was a leftover engine bay harness from a 2013-2015 Nissan Altima. One of the sections had about 5 feet off uninterrupted wires about 18guage.

This is my favorite part of installing air tank and compressor in the spare tire well. The E38 has a cut out in the plastic of the rear floor trim and rear body plastic panel for wire loom to pass under. Using this it keeps all wires hidden under floor mat. So the wire looms run into these factory cut outs and behind the rear body trim to the area above the battery.

This is the end of my 5 foot wire loom extension for the valve body. Here is where the wireless AirBagIt.com's smart ride controller will be connected. From my iphone or ipad I will control the air valves and height. The only piece of this puzzle left to buy is the BagRiders DigiGuage2 pressure guage. The four open slots on the backside of the air valve body (1/8"npt") will get a pressure sending unit for each corner. Those units will be routed to the brains located above the battery. A single comm wire needs to be routed to the dashboard that gives pressure read outs of each corner on a small digital display.

^^^^That is all the wires ran where they need to go. The pressure gauges will be run under the compressor and tank and up rear body like the rest. 3/8" air lines for all corners will go straight thru the tire well via firewall grommets and to their corners.
These are the custom air struts provided by ChassisTech/Airbagit.com. The bags are even offset inwards to give more tire clearance.

Do I need adjustable from camber plates and rear adjustable camber and toe links right away? I dont plan on cruising slammed.

Can you recommend an ignition source to use in the right rear side of trunk?

Nice work! Can't wait to see more.
Lot of work!!!! Congratulations!
Building some wheels with ESR. I liked all their forged wheels but I had a design in mind and after sharing it with them they sent me some renderings. It's a double 5 spoke, concave. If you can dream it ESR will build it. Super happy with them. I did not post this earlier because it wasn't a released wheel and I did not have their permission to share it. Now they are listing the design for sale. Size is 20x10 +10mm fronts and 20x11 -10mm in the rear. Colors are polished stepped lip, chrome hardware, and frozen grey centers. 50% deposit made. They have gotten the lips made. Should be finished in the next 30-45 days.

I like the frozen grey center. I am not a fan of polished either but that combo with the lip looks amazing. Great style for the E38 too!
