e46 multifunctions not working

hi all. right after swaping engines with a 6 cylinder my multifunctions stopped working. i even bought a new slip ring and multifunctions buttons thinking it could off been one of these but no joy. i have tested also the wires inside the steering wheel and no breaks or anything. does any one know what to do or test or even happen to them. thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum! I found an older thread where this is discussed - apparently the slip ring has a tendency of slipping out of the connection; the user addressed this issue and it began working.

2 slip rings doing the same thing? ive also tried 2 multifunction buttons and still no good
