I was driving a couple days ago and the transmission light came on. I turned off the car and then the service engine light went back on when I turned the car back on. I immediately scan the codes and it shows all oxygen sensors failed. I'm wondering if the oxygen sensors all failing all at once could cause the car to go into limp mode. If anyone has an answer that would be super appreciated, thanks!
Check and clean MAF sensor, clear all codes.
Perform a short drive cycle, scan for new codes, post back with results.

What are the exact codes you're getting. O2 sensor related codes often point to other issues if you know how to interpret the information.

It shows sensor 1 bank 1, sensor 2 bank 1, sensor 1 bank 2, and sensor 2 bank 2. That's all that shows.
I will do that today. Thank you very much.
I highly doubt the O2 sensors suddenly failed! Typically, O2 sensors get lazy and misreport. What are you using to scan the engine computer (DME) and the tranny computer (EGS) for codes?
Im using a simple Bosch check engine light code scanner.
That scanner wont read the transmission module.
Simple generic OBD2 scanners CANNOT communicate with the myriad of BMW computers(modules)contained in your vehicle.
I agree with flyfish and Marco, very unlikely all pre+post cat sensors fail at once, usually a signal of fuel mixture issues.
Follow my recommendations and post back. Use only CRC MAF Cleaner spray and allow to dry before reinstalling.
Clear codes with whatever tool you have at the moment, post back with new codes that appear.
Hi guys, I'm sorry... I had to spend the last two days in the emergency room, best cause I accidentally cut myself. Anywho, I cleaned the maf sensor, and I didn't get a change, still reading the oxygen sensor codes. I did however find a crack on top of the intake hose that connects to the maf sensor which is probably causing a vacuum leak, is that possibly the reason?
Thanks again :-)

You cleaned the sensor and then cleared the codes, correct?
Any crack will upset fuel mixtures, indicating a leak.
Yes, I cleaned the sensor with CRC, then reset the codes and the sensor codes all popped up again.
Access to a friend who has a laptop loaded with INPA, a BMW specific software would be most helpful.
True BMW specific codes, obtained from communication with the EGS module, in addition to others, is needed.
